Buhari Accepts Resignation Of Aisha Alhassan Appoints Aisha Abubakar

Alhassan resignation letter as the Minister for women affairs and social development has been accepted by President Muhammadu Buhari who also have appointed Aisha Abubakar to take over the Ministry left by Aisha Alhassan.

President Muhammadu Buhari who just returned to the country a few hours ago after attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York United States of America with wife Mrs. Aisha Buhari, accepted the resignation letter of Aisha Alhassan, while also thanking her for her service.

The President while accepting the resignation of Sen Aisha Alhassan said:

“I have received your letter offering your resignation as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

I accept your resignation with immediate effect. On behalf of the government and people of Nigeria, I thank you for your past services to the nation.”

Senator Aisha Alhassan who resigned her position as minister only a few days ago, also dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the United Democratic Party (UDP) where she hope to accualise her dream of becoming the Governorship aspirant and the flag bearer in the 2019 Governorship election in Taraba state.

Senator Aisha Alhassan who along side Minister of Communication Dr. Shittu were refused screening by the leadership of the APC due to one reason or the other, dumped her party and her Ministerial portfolio so she could be in another party where she can repeat or surpass the Governorship results of 2015 in Taraba state.

The President has since directed that the work of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development be looked after by Hajiya Aisha Abubakar, the Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment. This, also, is with immediate effect.

The resignation by Alhassan did not come as a surprise to many, as many have expected her to resign her position as Minister under the President Muhammadu Buhari administration after her statement on where her loyalty lies between Buhari and Atiku Abubakar.

The only surprise was how long it took for her to realized that she had to resign after allegedly making such statement and her dumping APC for UDP and not the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where Atiku Abubakar is a Presidential aspirant for the PDP presidential primaries.

As the politics or road to 2019 thickens we awaits to see where some of the political heavyweights defects to after failing at their respective party primaries…our eyes are in Lagos and Atiku Abubakar.
