The Nigerian Army has recovered the body of the missing Gen. Idris Alkali. The body was found in an abandoned well in Guchwet, Jos South Local Government, Brig. Gen. Umar Mohammed said. The retired military officer was declared missing in September, after leaving Abuja for Bauchi.

‘US Officials’ Have Signalled Atiku To Come For Visa- Gbenga Daniel

Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has received “signals from American officials” to apply for visa and it would be granted, Gbenga Daniel, Director-General of the Atiku Presidential Campaign Orgsanisation (APCO), has said. Atiku is widely believed to be wanted for alleged corruption in the US, and this is usually identofied as the reason he has not stepped on American soil for several years. However, Daniel, a former Governor of Ogun State, said on Wednesday that the corruption perception about Atiku “appears to have been flogged”, as “there have been signals from the American officials that he should indeed come forward; they want him to come so that they would grant him visa”. “This issue of corruption perception appears to have been overflogged[sic],” Daniel told Channels TV’s ‘Politics Today’ when asked about the challenge of marketing someone with Atiku’s image to Nigerians. “I remember when we were running the campaign against the p...

BREAKING: Tony Anenih, Ex-PDP BoT Chairman, Is Dead

Former minister of works and housing, Chief Tony Anenih, popularly called "Mr Fix It" has died at the age of 85. He died, this afternoon, at the Cedar Crest hospital in Abuja, where he had been on admission. Edo-born Anenih, a respected leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was once the chairman of the party's Board of Trustees. He also once served as a police orderly to the first Governor General of Nigeria, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe. A former police officer, Anenih was the national chairman of the Social Democratic Party from 1992 and 1993, when he assisted in the election Chief M. K. O. Abiola as president. He was also a member of the Constitutional Conference in 1994.

Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting Suspect Is Robert Bowers

Multiple law enforcement officials have identified the suspected gunman in Saturday morning’s attack on a Pittsburgh synagogue as Robert Bowers, 46, according to NBC News. Police reportedly believe Bowers was armed with an AR-15 style rifle and several handguns. It was not immediately clear why he allegedly targeted the Tree of Life Synagogue, where a circumcision ceremony for a baby was reportedly underway at the time of the shooting. But multiple local news reports have cited witnesses as saying the gunman shouted, “All Jews must die” upon entering the synagogue.

Google is marking the birthday of Ebola hero, Dr Stella Ameyo Adadevoh with a Google Doodle. Dr Adadevoh was born on October 27th, 1956. A Google Doodle is a special, temporary alteration of the logo on Google’s home pages that commemorates holidays, events, achievements, and people. Dr Ameyo Stella AdadevohDr Adadevoh is credited with having prevented a wider spread of the Ebola virus in Nigeria by placing the patient, Patrick Sawyer, in quarantine despite pressures from the Liberian government. Dr Ameyo Adadevoh was confirmed dead on August 19, 2014, after she single-handedly stopped late Patrick Sawyer, a Liberian-American diplomat who brought the Ebola Virus into Nigeria, from escaping from the hospital and further spreading the disease.
